Ice Palace
refers to a Norwegian novel by the same title written by Tarjei
Vesaas. This is a project exploring the
relationship between man and nature, as well as the children-girls
friendship. Freezing. Suspension.
A frozen lake groans
ominously, underneath the ice life flourishes.
The Palace casts a
spell, enchants and lures. It delights and
subdues, until it sucks all the vital life force away from its victim.
The whole Ice
Palace project is supposed to reflect
the structure of a book. Its stages
correspond to chapters, whereas the subject matter is a creative
transformation of plots in the book. The
materials and methods of implementation of the stages also refer to
nature, its cycles and relations with man's life.
